MoBay man killed after attacking cop

A 42-YEAR-OLD man, who was caught breaking into a basic school in Pitfour, Montego Bay, on Tuesday, was fatally shot when he allegedly attacked a policeman with a machete.

The dead man has been identified as Cleveland Lothain, also known as 'Lumbie', of Granville in St. James.

Reports are that at 2:45 a.m., residents alerted the Granville police and informed them that a break-in was in progress at the Hilltop Basic School.

On their arrival, Lothain was seen in a classroom and when he saw the lawmen, he ran. However he was accosted and, at that time, he allegedly used a machete to chop at a policeman. Continue reading this article
