Lawyer fails to have triple murder case shifted

KILANCHOLLY, St Mary - Efforts by legal aid lawyer Glen Cruickshank to have the case of triple murder accused Jeffrey Perry shifted to another parish was denied by Justice Basil Reid in the St Mary Circuit Court on Monday.
Cruickshank, who spoke on Perry's behalf, after the accused again failed to secure the services of a lawyer, argued that based on the effect the triple murder, which took place in January this year, had on St Mary he did not think the accused would get a fair trial.
However, the judge disagreed and ordered that Perry return to the Port Maria Court on November 30 when the case will again be called up.
Perry is accused of killing Dwayne Davidson, 15, and his sisters Sue-Ann Gordon, 13 and Shadece Williams, 4, in an early morning attack while they slept at their home in Kilancholly, St Mary.
The children were among four that their mother left at home while she attended church. The fourth child escaped unhurt....
