Preliminary trial in human trafficking case for June 22

A preliminary enquiry into allegations of human trafficking against Narcott Graham, 54, and Agon Stephens, 52, has been set for June 22 in the Half Way Tree Resident Magistrate's Court, Friday.

Both men, who remain in custody until the hearings, are accused of luring a 14-year-old girl into prostitution, according to court documents. They have been charged with procuring a girl to become a prostitute; procuring a girl to leave her usual place of residence for her to frequent a hotel for the purposes of prostitution; conspiracy to procure a girl to become a prostitute; and benefiting from earnings of prostitution.

In a covert police operation on May 26, Stephens from 11 Deanery Terrace, Kingston 3, and Graham, from 2D Love Street, Kingston 12, were allegedly caught by the police attempting to sell a schoolgirl to a foreigner, who turned out to be an undercover United States investigator posing as a tourist. The girl was allegedly being sold for US$400 for the purposes of prostitution....
