Two accused Paymaster robbers held

TWO men accused of robbing a Paymaster bill payment agency in Cross Roads, St Andrew of $168,000 last Monday have been held by the police. The police have also taken into custody a man accused of driving the getaway car after the robbery.

The accused are:

. Arthur Morrison Jr, of 514 Collie Smith Drive, Kingston;
. A man known only as "Juvenile" of Jones Town, Kingston; and
. Vivian Thomas, 29, accused of driving the getaway car. He is from 20 Pencil Street, Jones Town, Kingston.

Morrison, who was allegedly injured in the buttock during a shoot-out with the security guard at the Paymaster, was captured at the Kingston Public Hospital where he went for treatment later that afternoon. He was still in hospital yesterday under police guard.

'Juvenile' and Thomas were also held later that evening on Baker Street, Jones Town, with the cash that they were accused of stealing.

According to security guards at Empire Plaza, where the Paymaster branch is located, two gunmen went into the businessplace about 11:45 in the morning and demanded money from the cashier....
