Cop on murder, indecent assault charges denied bail

SERGEANT Aldermon Doran - the man who allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend and then shot himself in the neck in front of dozens of hearing-impaired children - was yesterday remanded into custody when he appeared in the Half-Way-Tree Resident Magistrate's Court on a separate matter.
Doran was accused of molesting a 15-year-old girl between June and November of this year, and is facing indecent assault charges.
Making a bail application on humanitarian grounds, Doran's attorney, Peter Champagnie, yesterday told presiding magistrate Judith Pusey that the injury to Doran's neck would make his stay in prison uncomfortable.
Pusey replied, however, that Doran could pose a threat to other witnesses involved in the matter, as he was also facing a murder charge. Pusey then ordered that Doran, who had a surgical wound in his face and a bandage around his neck, be remanded until Friday, when the matter would be heard again.
Doran also appeared in the Half-Way-Tree Gun Court, answering to the murder charge laid against him for the alleged murder of his girlfriend, 35-year-old Rosemarie Grey, on November 21.
According to police accounts of the incident, at approximately 8:30 am, Doran and Grey had an argument while both were seated in his car on the premises of the Danny Williams School for the Deaf. They had reportedly just dropped off Grey's son at the school. Shortly afterwards, three explosions were heard....
