THE HANOVER man accused of the murder of a 25-year-old baby-sitter, whom he reportedly met through a cellular chat room service while he was in jail, was remanded in the Lucea Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
The accused, 26-year-old Richard Campbell, has been charged with the death of Patrice Clarke of Windsor Castle in Portland.
He was remanded until March 5, pending a legal aid assessment.
Police discovered Clarke's body on January 22 in Elgin Town, Hanover, behind premises allegedly occupied by Campbell.
He was allegedly found in possession of Clarke's cellular phone, subsequent to her leaving home on January 20 to meet him in Hanover.
Formal charges were levelled against Campbell on January 31.
The accused, who is also known as 'Fabian Campbell', 'Kevin' and 'Hurricane Gary', is also facing an additional charge of attempted murder in relation to an incident in December 2005.
He has also been linked to the disappearance a 27-year-old Diane Andrea Jackson of Santoy in Hanover, whom he contacted and introduced himself to as a cellmate of her boyfriend. The two men reportedly met at the Lucea police lock-up.
