Accused rapist to face several ID parades

February 13, 2007

A man who is alleged to have raped several persons in the Corporate Area, including a 77-year-old woman, is to face several more identification parades before being taken before the courts, the police said yesterday.

According to an officer from the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA), the man was positively identified during an identification parade last week, but was scheduled to face many more due to the number of complainants.

The officer declined, however, to divulge any more information on the matter saying that the man was almost harmed recently due to information circulating amongst members of the public. The man was captured about three weeks AGO during a police operation.
