Snoop Dogg, Priority Records may mediate lawsuit

March 29, 2007

Snoop Dogg and Priority Records will consider mediation to settle a lawsuit brought by the rapper alleging breach of contract, attorneys for both sides said Monday.

Snoop Dogg sued the company on November 22, 2006, claiming it owed him $2 million in fees. Priority Records has maintained the lawsuit should be barred because the artiste waited too long to file it.

Snoop Dogg's lawyer, Kenneth D. Freundlich, said in court that mediation was a goo to a trial, but he must first get the approval of the rapper, who is touring overseas.

Both sides were ordered to return to court August 27 for an update. If mediation fails, a trial could be scheduled.
