Man accused of theft

July 06, 2007

Trinidadian Lennox Boodram, a former executive director of Keep Bermuda Beautiful, has been charged with stealing more than US$40,000 from the environ-mental organisation.

Boodram, 46, who came to Bermuda from Canada around 15 years ago, denied all charges at a court arraignment hearing earlier this week.

He is accused of stealing $42,050 from the NGO between October 2001 and June 2005.

He also pleaded not guilty to two counts of receiving $4,533.13 property unlawfully obtained in August 2004 and February 2005.

Chief Justice Richard Ground granted Boodram bail until the next mention of the case on August 1.
