Trial of Opposition legislator to begin
July 13, 2007
The Serious Offence Court has set July 18 as the start of the trial of Opposition senator, Daniel Cummings, who is accused of assaulting a police officer during a demonstration two months ago.
The matter had been adjourned last week after the court heard that Const. Alasius Stapleton, the police officer who had been allegedly assaulted by the opposition legislator, was in Barbados attending a training course.
