Dec 14 court date for accused in LG Brown's murder

December 06, 2007

SANDRA Watt, the household helper who prosecutors are charging played a part in the murder of her boss, Sandra Campbell, and her companion, businessman George LG Brown, is scheduled to appear in court on December 14.

When Watt appeared in the Home Circuit Court on Monday, the date was set for a bail application to be made and a date for her retrial agreed.

Watt was charged along with 37-year-old Peter Dugal and Donald Whyte, 40, for the June 5, 2005 murder of Campbell and Brown, the former president of the Jamaica Gasolene Retailers Association, at Campbell's Stillwell Road, Stony Hill, St Andrew home.

Dugal and Whyte were found guilty on July 26, but the 12-member jury was unable to reach a verdict concerning Watt, setting the stage for another trial.

Both men were last month sentenced in the Home Circuit Court - Dugal to death and Whyte to life imprisonment. Whyte was ordered to serve 40 years of his life sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
