Shooting leaves one dead, three injured in Siloah

Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth - The St Elizabeth police are searching for a businessman allegedly involved in a shooting which left one man dead and three others injured during a dance at Crown Land in Siloah, northern St Elizabeth early yesterday morning.

The dead man has been identified as Devon Austin, a 35-year-old labourer of Thornton. Police say tahe injured men include a 35-year old district constable and a 43-year-old who is said to be of unsound mind.

Police say that at about 12:30 am Austin and another man identified as businessman Christopher Ramble, also of Thornton, became embroiled in a dispute. A firearm was pulled and several shots fired, hitting Austin and three others who were in the vicinity.

They were rushed to hospital where Austin was pronounced dead and the three injured men were admitted in stable condition.

Police say they are in search of Ramble who allegedly fled the scene after the shooting.
