Accused killer remanded in police custody

MONTEGO BAY, St James - A Montego Bay man who is alleged to have killed a woman while on bail on a rape charge was remanded in police custody when he was brought to the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Police report that an eyewitness saw Rio McIntosh and one other man, who is still on the run, kick off the door to the house where the deceased Denise Gordon lived in Bottom Pen, Glendevon just before hearing loud explosions.

It is understood that at least two eyewitnesses were able to identify the accused man.

The court heard that on December 5 last year just after 11:00 am, one of the eyewitnesses saw McIntosh, the other accused man and two others, all armed with guns, walking along a track towards Gordon's house.

The witness, the court heard, saw McIntosh and the other man kick off the door then heard loud explosions and saw them returning with the guns in their hands.

McIntosh was held on December 10 and formally charged on December 21st.

He will return to court on February 4 when the rape charge against him will also be mentioned.
