Double murder accused back in court Friday

The three men charged with the murder of a couple who went to give medical supplies to a man who was injured in a motor vehicular accident are to return to the Home Circuit Court on Friday.
The men - George Cooper, André Ennis and Shane Brown, all of Kingston addresses - were remanded when they appeared in court last Friday. A bail application will be made when they return to court.
Kidnapped
Taiwo McKenzie and Jhanel Whyte were kidnapped in November last year when they went to a location in Havendale, St. Andrew, to give medical supplies to an injured man.
McKenzie was allegedly driving a motor car when it collided with a motorcycle on which two men were travelling. Arrangements were subsequently made for the couple to take medical supplies to one of the men who was injured during the accident.
Murdered for ransom
It is being alleged that, after McKenzie and Whyte were kidnapped, a demand was made for a ransom of US$100,000(J$7 million). When the demand was not met, they were murdered.
The bodies, with the throats slashed, were discovered in Mount Salus district, Red Hills, St. Andrew, on November 8, last year.
